Drunk Monks

I haven't been up to much since I got back to England earlier this month. I've spent most of my time at my desk, writing away. I don't want to share any actual information about my book here, but I've been creating a mood board, so I thought I may share that. What is a mood board, you ask?

A collection of images that get the feeling of the book across, even if they have little to do with the content itself. Eventually these will go up on my wall. For now, I'll share them here:

The drunk monk, pink house, the crow people, and the Scooby Doo newsman are my favorite. My protagonist is a 13 year-old girl, but that monk just captures her essence perfectly. When I found the pink house, I realized it was the house I'd imagined in the story. My story has talking crows, so why couldn't it have real ghosts?

I think all-together these pictures capture the tone of the novel perfectly: weird, spooky, old-fashioned, and a little silly.
